So, the problem is we have a video with no manuscript, and we want to produce subtitles for it.
If it's on YouTube, or we upload it to YouTube, YouTube may well provide us with AutoCaptions. As they are, they are not very useful, but YouTube's speech recognition can still be useful in that a transcript is also provided. On the next page I describe how.
If the speech is not clear enough for speech recognition software, we need, of course, to just type it out as an audio typist would. On the Macro page, I provide an OpenOffice, LibreOffice, macro that will help turn your text into an SRT file.
